[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i42.tinypic.com/msd2jd.jpg); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] i try to say goodbye and i choke Daphne had now attended AMG for a few days, and she was in the full swing of things. Classes were challenging and fun, but like any other student, Daphne could hardly wait for them to be over. Considering that it was Friday, today was especially the case. The bell rang, and kids scattered, the hallways filled with chatter and cacophony, Daphne was swept up in the rush, barely able to shove all of her notebooks and folders into her book bag.
Once out in the hallway, she breathed in a big sigh of relief. The week had been pretty stressful, all things considered, and the blond teen was ready to take a break and chill out. She had heard rumors of a group intending on sneaking out to Castles, but Daphne had figured that it would be a bad, baaaad idea to get caught sneaking away after only being here a week. So, she had no plans, not even tentative ones, and a free weekend that would hopefully have minimal homework.
Hey, speaking of homework, let’s just have it all spill on the floor, okay, Daphne? After all, some kid in a hurry to get away from had a high chance of knocking into already klutzy people and spilling the contents of Daphne’s bag all over that linoleum floor. Daphne knelt down to pick up her things. There were papers for class, notebooks for class, pencils for everything, notebooks for her music, some more pencils, and any other typical school stuff your pretty little head can think of.
But what’s this? Is that someone else’s hand Daphne’s just brushed against? Was someone else getting down on their knees to help the frazzled omniglot pick up her things? Or was the author bullshitting it?

This boy was named Daniel Alexander Cross, though most people called him Danny. If you knew Danny, you would know that this really wasn't a rare thing for him to do. At any given moment, you could see the boy helping someone with their homework, talking with those shy people, picking up papers. He was one of those strange people that actually enjoyed helping others. Probably why he would be a good doctor - aside from the fact that his power was healing and that doctors made a lot of money. But that was besides the point.
Danny had actually been watching the girl for a while now - in the most un-creepy way possible, of course. She was knew, and therefore interesting. Danny had been here two years now, and this was like a second home to him. Sure, he missed his folks and siblings back home in Chicago, but this place was awesome. Here, he could actually use his powers without being called a freak. Plus, this place was fun! Some of classes sucked - he despised writing papers, what teacher really had time to read all of them? - but the people here were awesome. So far he hadn't met anyone he really didn't like. Danny thought the new girl was funny. Talkative, he had noted, but funny.
Danny had been trying to squeeze past the hoard of rushing kids without being flattened himself, when he noticed a blonde head in front of him. And then bam! enter homework spilling on the floor. Ignoring the dirty looks others gave him as they went around him, Danny looked at Daphne and smiled, chocolate brown eyes warm. "Hey there, blondie. That was fun, now wasn't it?" Danny offered papers and a handful of pencils to her with a warm smile. "My name's Danny - you're Daphne, right?"

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i42.tinypic.com/msd2jd.jpg); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] try to walk away and i stumble Despite the fact that Daphne was thoroughly loquacious, she was hardly eloquent. What are all of these confangled and confusing words? What on earth am I trying to get at, you scream? Why, it's simple: though Daphne talks -a lot-, she isn't always articulate. She stutters, stammers, mumbles, and sometimes just doesn't make coherent sentences. Case in point: talking to a pair of brown eyes that should be illegal.
"Uhm, uh, yeah, I'm Daphne. Cypher. Daphne Cypher." Said Daphne Cypher managed to take the papers and pencils offered to her and shove them into her bag. She did not, however, manage to keep the blood from rushing to her cheeks in the most embarrassing of ways. "You're, uhm, Danny, you said? Uh..." Standing up, not sure of what to say, Daphne just said the first thing that came to her mind (that wasn't OH MAN OH MAN HE'S CUTE AND HOT AT THE SAME TIME HOW DOES THAT WORK OH MAN HE CALLED ME BLONDIE AND HE HELPED ME AND OH MAN). "Uhm, English class, right? And, uh, isn't there a, uhm, another class?" Daphne did manage to smile, her mind about three seconds away from short circuiting.
Another factor to, ah, 'help' her from being completely able to not function was the swarms of kids still leaving the school. Did they care about Daphne and the boy (with really white teeth or maybe it was just his skin making them seem that way he did have really nice skin it was so different from Daphne's but it was so golden and pretty oh man)? Hardly. Most kids shoved their way past, a few voicing their frustrations at the stagnant girl. "Uhm, I guess we should get going. Uh... Th-thanks for helping me with my, uhm, stuff and, pencils, and stuff." Daphne still stood still, not quite sure if she should be in high heels at this point.
No, really, those eyes should be ILLEGAL. TAGGED: Danny, duh| WORDS: 325| outfit | OOC: <3333333333333

Sure, he knew he was cute. Hey, a guy couldn't go through high school without noticing the attention he got. Danny was popular. It wasn't arrogance, it was the truth. He didn't mind the attention, though. What teenage boy would? Danny had his fair share of relationships, both men and women, though he did prefer the fairer sex. But Danny hadn't had this reaction before. EVER. Actually, he didn't know what to do about it. For a moment, he just blinked at the babbling female, before starting to laugh.
Danny immediately apologized, but he couldn't stop laughing. People turned to stare at him, but he didn't really care. "No, no, I'm not laughing at you, I promise! It's just -- breathe, Blondie! It's very nice to meet you, Daphne Cypher. Slow down and breathe. Yes, I'm Danny, Danny Cross. You okay?" Danny picked up the last of the papers and pencils, grinning at the blonde girl. She was blushing, and it stuck him. Like BAM. Later, he'd look backwards on this moment and shake his head with a rueful laugh. But in that moment, Danny couldn't honestly say if he had seen a prettier sight. The brown-haired boy just stared at her for a moment before smiling back at her. "A bit frazzled, are we? Yes, we have English and Psych together."
As people pushed past them, giving them irritated looks, Danny rolled their eyes. They should probably move out of the way before someone bowled into them. Danny wasn't sure if Daphne could survive another embarrassment, he believed. "Not a problem. Look, we better get out of the way before someone decides to get violent with us," Danny said, nodding to a couple of guys with an evil look in their eyes. He grabbed the blonde girl's hand and dragged her into a nearby empty classroom, shutting the door after him. "Phew! Those crowds are evil. You all right, Blondie?" He still hadn't let go of her hand, and he glanced at her, brown eyes concerned.
Fell, hook, line and sinker.

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i42.tinypic.com/msd2jd.jpg); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] though i try to hide it, it's clear Daphne, her heart beating way too hard and way too fast, was trying to convince herself to stop being such a dork. It wasn't like this was some magical thing; there was no soundtrack playing the gushy kind of love songs that seemed to be floating about in Daphne's head. She couldn't get them out of her head, and it was ridiculous. This was not love at first sight. Daphne, you are not a character in a movie or a book (well, Daphne thought she wasn't).
So why was she reacting this way? She had seen him in class, hadn't she? Well... Daphne mulled it over the course of a few seconds. She had never talked to him (though he had likely heard her), she had never heard him speak, and she couldn't precisely recall ever looking into those eyes. Maybe her reaction was normal. After all, Daphne was looking into the eyes of her true love a boy she had not seen go through puberty. "Yeah, English, Psych, right." Daphne bit her lip and tried to will her blush away, but it only seemed to intensify. She smiled, though, and laughed along with Danny (it was just such a contagious laugh and she wanted to laugh with him and stop it Daphne you are not in a Twilight book). "I'm... Yeah, I'm, uh, kind of, yeah, frazzled is the, uh, perfect word, I guess, yeah."
OH MY GOD HE'S TOUCHING ME OH MAN WHY IS MY HAND SO SWEATY HIS ISN'T GOD THAT'S SO EMBARRASSING WOW HE'S REALLY WARM AND HIS HAND IS SO SOFT IT'S SOFTER THAN MINE OH MAN MINE ARE ALL CALLUSED AND GROSS DAMMIT WHY DO I PLAY INSTRUMENTS oh he's not touching me anymore
In case you couldn't tell, that was the more coherent thoughts Daphne possessed. She really, really hoped that Danny wasn't a mind reader.
He's calling me Blondie again.
"Oh, uhm, yeah, I-I'm fine." Daphne ran her (still sweaty) hand through her hair that was blond and the reason for the nickname oh man should she come up with a nickname how about making coherent sentences come on Daphne you can understand every language stop acting like this. Now. Finally taking in her surroundings, Daphne realized they were in an abandoned classroom. The teacher had, of course, gone along with the crowds escaping for the weekend. "Those crowds are pretty killer, I mean, I guess it's just because it's Friday, like, I know they were not that bad yesterday and this is my first Friday here so I totally wasn't prepared for the complete chaos I mean where's the fire, right?" Daphne spoke closer to her normal self- that is, quite rapidly and excessively. "So, Danny Cross, a-are we just waiting for the crowds to disperse or what?"
Dammit blush, go awaaaaaaaaaay.

It really wasn't a feeling he had often. Though Danny was known for his laid back and relaxed attitude, he was always in control. Always. He didn't have a bad past, like many of the students here. Actually, he was very grateful for his life. He had a loving family and a great life here. How could he complain? But this particular feeling? It was like someone had dumped him in icy water, then threw him in a spa, then gave him a stuffed animal to hold. All at once.
Yeah, did that make sense? Danny's author hope so, because he was definitely feeling exactly like that.
Was it love? Hell if Danny knew. Danny was about as bright as a burnt out light bulb when it came to things like that. And by things like that he meant the female mind. He mentally shook his head. Well, he'd figure that out later. Right now, he really wanted to get to know this girl he had just ran into. She definitely seemed frazzled, that's for sure, and it was sort of adorable. It made him want to give her a hug. While he was definitely a huggy person, he didn't just hug people out of random. Especially girls - even pretty ones - that he had just met. Even if it was the love of his life pretty girl in front of him.
"Yes, I've seen you before. You talk a lot - it's amusing." Danny said with a smile. He laughed again and reached up with one hand and brushed a strand of hair out of her face, tucking it behind her ear. It was almost automatic, and he honestly didn't really notice that he had done it. His hand touched her cheek slightly before he blinked, dropping his hand to his side. What the HELL did you just do, Danny-boy? Did you really just do that? Really? Sure, she does have really pretty white skin, and that blush flatters her eyes, and her hair is like gold but ---- waiiiiit a minute. Did I really just think that? Good god, what have I gotten myself into?
Daphne wasn't the only one to have conversations with herself, it appears.
"I know, right." Danny made a face. "They act like it's the end of the world if they don't get out within two milliseconds of the bell ringing." Danny shook his head. He really didn't understand that. He raised an eyebrow at Daphne. "Do you want to risk going out there and getting trampled, or stay in here where we are safe, Daphne Cypher?" He asked, eyes amused.

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i42.tinypic.com/msd2jd.jpg); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] my world crumbles when you are not near Daphne was just getting used to being kind of close to Danny. Her heart was still beating kind of hard, but it was beginning to get less loud. Maybe Daph was just getting used to it. She was breathing again. Like hell that blush was going away; still, at least it had plateaued.
Or so Daphne thought.
After saying something about Daphne's talking habits (this school was really quite amazed by them, it seemed), Danny had gotten even closer to Daphne and brushed the hair out of her face. Daphne pretty much exploded. She jumped up and away a bit, because those chocolate eyes were going to be the absolute death of her. "Yeah, I, uhm, I've always been a real chatterbox, but, uhm, I don't know if it's because, of, like, me, or, my, uh, my power." Trying her damnedest to stop the wigging of the out, Daphne just kept on motormouthing. "When I was little, I totally would dip into other languages I'd heard without even knowing it. It wasn't much of a surprise that I had a power, since one of my brothers is a gravity manipulator he's pretty boss at it he went here for a couple of years he's like twenty now and out of school is it just me or is this room really cold but like warm at the same time?"
Finally managing to calm down (well, sort of) again, Daphne reached down and grabbed her bag. "Oh, you know, I was planning on heading up to my dorm and starting procrastinating on my homework." She peeked out of the door, and noted the thinning crowd. "It looks like pretty much everyone is gone, if you'd like to leave with me? Or, uhm, I mean not with me with me, but, like, at the same time as me you know what I mean right? Riiiight."
Dammit Daphne, for once in your life, SHUT UP.
Never, Daphne, never. In the process of turning around to see what Danny's response was going to be, Daphne twisted her ankle and fell. Her heel had been caught on a snag in the carpet, and while a person with more than an inkling of balance and grace could have removed their foot easily, Daphne was not a person with that much skill in keeping her body upright. "Ow, ow, ow." Daphne muttered as she dug out her foot from underneath her body. She had landed on it at a funny angle, and when she managed to get it in her line of sight, Daphne gasped. It was swelling rapidly, and when she poked it, it hurt like a mofo. "Ow," she said dumbly again. As much as she loved those fuzzy purple stilettos, they probably weren't too wise to wear when around hot/cute boys that are very touchy-feely.
