homesick for a place that doesn't exist
Perhaps like a few, rare girls on the island, Margaret hadn't spent a few good hours working on her appearance for this night. It wasn't her first dance...however, it is the first dance for her in AMG. She was a bit nervous for the whole fiasco, but being in charge of decorations helped ease the extra energy. At least she knew what the place looked like. Regardless, she hadn't put too much effort into her look. All she did was messily pull back her hair, find a sheer (long sleeve) shirt and dress it with a skirt and belt. She did not want to get cold that night, so frilly cocktail dresses were out of the question.
Although her outfit served a more practical purpose, it did not stop by-standers by getting a clear view of her bra. She had taken the extra effort to wear a black, lace-y one, just to spice up the view and keep her in the competition. Not to mention her skirt was rather ridiculously short.
She made her way to the dance fashionably late. From the front entrance she noticed that the decorations she put up earlier were still in tact and were absolutely delightful to see. A small smile made its way onto her face as she greeted fellow students that praised her for her hard work. She enjoyed the praise as much as she liked this next song.
Quickly, she made the short distance from the front entrance to a small group of other junior girls dancing to this song. She laughed and sang along with the other girls, however the laugh was more directed toward each other. No girl wanted to sweat or to to have any wardrobe malfunctions, so instead of dancing, they made this weird ... kind of ... awkward motion. It was quite hilarious to watch, but Margaret fell victim to it too. She found herself being very careful of every movement she made. But if that's what it takes to get a dance from a boy later, that God help her, she will do it!
Once the song faded and another song blasted through the amps, Margaret found herself bored and drifting slowly away from the group and to the punch bowl. No doubt it was already spiked, so she took just a wee bit in her red solo cup. She downed the thing like a shot and disposed of the cup in the trashcan beside the table. With a bit of a disinterested look on her face, she decided to stand somewhat close to a mistletoe and see what kind of crowd she got.
