Xavier Alexandre Poynter Teacher (Physics) Male Straight
»The fat lard of a principal looked over his papers with a rather disinterested attitude. He noticed you sitting down, but doesn't really have the courtesy to look up from his desk. To you, he says out loud. "Let's begin sha'll we? Tell me the basic details about yourself." With a cough, he shuffled through is papers and glanced at you once through his small eye glasses.
The rather lanky man sat down in the chair, crossed his legs and interlocked his fingers. He sighed as he answered the principal's question, "Hello. My name is Xavier Alexandre Poynter, but most people just call me Mr. Poynter because well, I'm hoping to be the physics teacher here at the school. I am thirty-five years old." Xavier took in a breath as he thought of something more to say, "I was born in London, England on December 12th." He uncrossed his legs and set his arms on the arms of the chair, awaiting his next question.
»With a sigh, he leaned back in his chair, threw his glasses on the desk and ran his chubby fingers through thinning, greasy hair. He pinched the nose of his bridge and closed his eyes tightly as he said, "You know about the truth of this place. Now, I didn't invite you personally, my staff did. So please, give me a run down of your power." With his eyes still shut, the principal gestured with one arm toward you to begin.
Mr. Poynter just sighed. Shouldn't this man do research on his teachers before bringing them in for an interview? "Super human intelligence is the power I possess. Because of this, I was able to graduate high school at a young age, go to college and graduate in my teenage years, and become a doctor. However, I missed the schooling years, so I became a physics teacher, because well, it's a very interesting subject to me anyways. I have the tendency to shoot off random facts however. Or sound very "snooty" or something like that as the kids call it these days. Sorry that I cannot control how I am or what my power came to be." Xavier instantly became bored after this point. Couldn't he just write a resume for the guy or something instead of wasting his time here? He could be saving someone right now. He did have a medical licenses after all. He just hoped that this torture would be over soon. All he wanted to do was teach Physics for the aspiring young minds of tomorrow. Was that too much to ask? Obviously.
»Finally, his eyes opened groggily. However, he wasn't much warmer. He yawned loudly and largely as he looked over your paper. With eyes watery and face red he continued, "I see why we would have invited you. Let's see..ah yes. Mind telling a bit about your family and where you're from?"
The principal yawned, which made Xavier even more bored of this whole process. His doctor interview was more exciting than this; and that was saying something. He mentioned that they could see why they had invited him here. He smiled as he answered his next question, "Well, as you can probably tell by the accent, I'm originally from Great Britain. My parents were Sarah and Peter Poynter, both well respected people in the community. My mother was a doctor and my father a lawyer. My household was very strict, as well as very controlled. I had one sibling, a younger sister by the name of Elizabeth. As a child, I guess my parents would say that I was well-behaved for the most part. My powers developed when I was around ten. So, when that happened, the teachers began to, well, not exactly like me for sleeping in class and still passing the tests with flying colors. My parents just suspected that I was outrageously smart, which I was of course. Other than that, nothing happened that was truly exciting. I got married at twenty-three to a wonderful girl named Ivy. We had a child, a baby girl named Jennifer, or Jenny for short. We got a divorce for reasons that I'd rather not speak of and I got custody of my little girl." His wife had well, cheated on him with another, younger man. Perhaps he wasn't the best anymore, but that gave her no reason to just turn her back on the years of commitment they had grown together.
»While you were talking, the principal had made himself comfortable by leaning back in his chair and intertwining his fingers. "Hmpf. You should fit right in. May I ask, what are your plans in the future? Outside of AMG?
He didn't seem to be much of a listener when Xavier talked to him about his life. Maybe he would be more interested in his goals and aspirations."My goals include just the thought of maybe marrying again one day. I do enjoy a companion beside me. I realize that it might not be possible to have a women that might not be able to deal with me because of the intelligence, and how I can be slightly irrational sometimes. However, I think it would be good for Jenny to have a female role model in her life." He just sighed after explaining it. He just wanted a women who could put up with him and his random out bursts of facts. He was more worried about Jenny and how she was getting into her teenage years and how she might grow up. He had tried his best, being her father and all.
»He looks much more interested now, rather awake and in a slightly better mood. "Tell me, do you have any hobbies?" he inquired, creating soft jazz hands at the word 'hobbies' as if to mock it. "You're aware that it may be difficult to continue these on the island, as you may not leave outside of break?" It was more of a statement than a question.
Xavier smiled, as this man had looked more awake, "Well, I enjoy reading and writing. I love spending time with my little girl, even though she's not exactly little anymore. I like solving problems, brain stuff. Puzzles of that sort." Poynter had always enjoyed the mind boggling games. He enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, especially the ones of the 3-D kind. It was more of a challenge for him, but not much more than a 2-D one. He sighed thinking of it. Maybe he could come up with a puzzle himself. Maybe like a twelve by twelve rubic's cube or something of the sort.
»The principal crossed his fat arms and leaned on his desk. In a much more serious tone, he asked, "Be honest, child. How do you feel about all of this...supernatural stuff?" his shoulders shrugged as he said it.
He seemed more serious when he asked about the supernatural things. Obviously, this was about to be a serious question. Xavier took time to think about this one though. What did he really think of all this, supernatural stuff? "Well, as a child I did not believe in the supernatural stuff. I was more of a "if you can't see it, it's not real" kind of boy. But, after IQ scores came back and I graduated college at a young age, I thought about it for a real thing though. After I got a job at the school and saw all these kids here, I obviously had to start believing. Sometimes, I still find it irrational at some points, but I'm completely open to the idea now." He guessed that would be sufficient enough for the fat man to judge him on. He was still getting used to all of this stuff anyways. How was he supposed to know he had "superhuman" intelligence or whatever it was as a child. He may have been smart, but obviously not one for the supernatural.
»He leaned back on the chair that squeaked under his weight. "I see. Personally, I have mixed feelings. Anyway, we're finished now." The Principal grunted loudly as he got up to shake your hand. "It was a pleasure meeting you, do you have any questions for AMG?" he added, as he let go of your hand and buzzed the receptionist to lead you out.
Xavier smiled his half-crooked smile taking the man's hand, "When do I start?"
