I feel part of everywhere.
Confusion, I daresay, is not a friend to Maslynn. Recently, it's been attempting to get on her good side, following her everywhere and clouding her vision. However, as any nice person would know, that is, most definitely, not a good way to make friends. No one likes to be smothered. And, as Austin had very discreetly pointed out in the IM earlier, she was also having a problem with that as of late.
But the worst thing going on for Massy, at the moment, was the end of the bubbly, sweet relationship she and Wren had had. Not that she didn't think they could still be friends. But he'd been acting so weird in the chat box, and she was afraid he might start acting that way the next time they met up at school. She shouldn't have let him go over to her house. She shouldn't have been acting strange in the chat box. She should have kept her stupid problems to herself, and none of this would ever happened. But now she was almost nauseous with the stickiness of the messy emotions regarding the situation. She ached to be back in the park, looking at lights or in her kitchen baking cupcakes with Wren or in the living room watching Forrest Gump with her brother and Story. Anywhere but back at school, with the potential to screw things up even more.
She'd initially considered avoiding Wren, but that wasn't an option, as she still had to bring him his late Christmas present. But he wasn't back at school yet, was he? Maybe she could take it to Austin, and Austin could deliver it. Well, the decision to do that sparked another idea. Maybe Austin could explain Wren's behavior to her. Or offer her some sort of comfort. Not that Austin was exactly the comforting type, because he wasn't. At all. But he did care about Wren, so perhaps this would be important to him. She could approach it in a way that meant she wasn't really complaining. Yes, that would work. It had to.
On the off chance that it was, Massy got herself out of bed (for she'd been lying there most of the morning and it was now nearly noon) and dressed. Just in case Wren had come back, she was a little bit careful about what she dressed in. She still didn't know why it mattered to her so much, but she was tired of questioning her actions when it came to Wren. Finally, she grabbed the bag with Wren's gift in it and walked over to the boys' dormitory. She didn't bother knocking on the door. She just went inside. She did, however, stop in the doorway, just in case Austin was doing something gross, and decided to give him a fair warning. "Austin? Are you in here? It's Massy." He could probably see that, but it didn't much matter to Massy if he thought she was stupid. She was way beyond caring what Austin thought of her. She couldn't decide which she wanted more; for Austin to be there so she could talk to him about Wren, or for him to be somewhere else so she could drop the present off and leave.
