Rai couldn’t lie. Most dances, he’d been to. In fact, he’d been to quite a few with his girl back in Castle. He was, by all standards, the guy that absolutely loved dances. He’d been to a dozen, sneaking out and going to other cities. It was a great place to meet clients, and a great way to impress girls. What Rai wasn’t used to, however, was going to a dance alone. Without a girl or boy to hold his company and attention. He suddenly wished he was back in Castle to work it out with his old girl. However, this thought would soon be blown out of his mind, he assured himself.
Dressed up in what he would usually consider work cloths, he assumed himself quite a handsome son of a buck, in his dads words. His hair had been combed down, his body dressed up. While he was wearing a long sleeved shirt, grey button down, he had wrapped up his arms to make sure that no scars from his “accident,” were showing. He couldn’t risk scaring any girls or, for that matter, boys off. He needed some company to get his mind of off Nicole. Even if it was the nightly kind of company.
He was walking calmly when he spotted her. And for a moment, his eyes flashed by her, but then, they trailed back. His heart thudded for a second, and he smiled rather calmly when he started to realize his legs were walking of their own accord towards her. The place smelled lightly of punch and, if he knew the smell well enough spiked drink. A few people he passed smelled lightly of marijuana, but he could care less. His inventory mind was currently gone, locked off as he approached the girl.
He smoothed out his hair before he stuck his hand out. “Names Rai.”

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/IyEuo.png); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] Even in the darkness, every color can be found The night had been long, but somewhat enjoyable. Oriana was the mastermind behind the dance's food and beverage section. She was the one responsible for having the classic punch and eggnog, the cookies, the crackers, and all of the other various assorted snacks that were carefully laid out to help fuel the partying teens. She didn't stray far from the snack table even as the dance began to really pick up; after all, Oriana isn't exactly your great social butterfly. She poured herself a cup of the eggnog. Spiked, definitely at this point. Whatever. Maybe it would make the whole night more bearable.
The eggnog and wallflower tactics Oriana adopted did not calm the flow of single boys that came over to say hello to her. It was the dress; Oriana knew that wearing it would yield these results. Still, she adored the dress. Completely covered in the front, but with almost no back, the dress was sexy and conservative at the same time. Sure, you didn't see any boobs, but then you realized, hey, Oriana wasn't wearing a bra. Not to mention, it was figure hugging, flattering, and red.
After rejecting what seemed like dozens of boys but was really only like five or six, Oriana was due for her third cup of eggnog. She filled the cup, then happened to spot a most interesting boy. At first glance, he wasn't much different than any of the other boys at AMG. But, there was something Ori decided she might have liked. He looked like he was covered in cheese, from the way he slicked back his hair to the way he offered his hand to Ori. "Rai, is it? I am Oriana. I am also quite busy, thank you." She didn't shake his hand; instead, Oriana busied herself with rearranging the snack plates. Again.

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/IyEuo.png); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] My mind has changed my bodies frame but god I like it. My hearts aflame my bodies changed but god I like it.
The idea of denying Rai Saithic Black had never occurred to him, and so when she cast away his invitation like a scrap piece of meat, he almost took offense. His mind raced, and he thought for a moment of trying to impress her with a shot of lightening, but stopped himself. Remember what happened last time, he reminded himself, pushing away his thoughts and then turning to other ones. What could he do? Flattery? He bit his lip and nodded.
She was just playing hard to get, he was sure of it! He hid a smile and told himself calmly that this was certainly a game worth playing, and one that would lead him victorious. He wasn’t sexist, although he was a bit big headed, and he didn’t claim on treating her like a prize if he won. That was, of course, when he won, he thought to himself in a cocky manor. With most things, Rai was totally uncertain. With women, he knew how to charm, tame, and love. He was, after all, Saithic, Rai. Seven, Lightening. The luckiest number in the world with the world’s best element. Yeah, he was a bit cocky, but he was street smart, and that came in handy.
“Oriana? Beautiful name. Certainly with a beautiful face and spirit, eh?” he said with a smile. Taking back his hand, Rai took a glass of eggnog and sniffed before drinking it. Ah, the beauty of drink! How it could calm. He was totally at ease here, and totally confident with himself. He didn’t realize how fast he’d fall on his face, however. He had an unsteady hold on himself and no good assessment of the situation, two things he didn’t usually go into a battle without. Yet, he was never, for a moment, unsure. He knew the path, and he would fallow it.

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i.imgur.com/IyEuo.png); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] Even in the darkness, every color can be found He wasn't leaving, after her somewhat kind rebuff. Oriana, for once, didn't outright insult the boy, as was her usual trade. Instead, she had ever-so-kindly told him off, expecting him to at least get the hint and leave her alone. Didn't anyone understand? She was a bitch, she was cruel, and she did not enjoy other people. Sure, it had started out as an elaborate facade, but nowadays, it rang true. Oriana had already been over this with herself- and so what if she really had become a bitch? It was all for the better. She wasn't going to hurt anyone but herself ever. Never again.
Still, she couldn't very well tell the boy that- even if she wanted to push people away, she didn't want the few friends she did possess to catch wind that she was a murderer. Something like that could so easily spiral away from the truth, as always happened in high school. A girl who lost her virginity to a community college student suddenly became known as the girl who worked it with three guys all over fifty that gave her crabs. A boy who ended up in the hospital for getting hit by a driver suddenly became a drug addict, a drunk, and a depressed kid who tried to kill himself. So something that started in truth -Oriana had killed her best friend; she accepted it, she lived on- would end up becoming something much more, something not worth the trouble. So Oriana didn't tell anyone but those closest to her. And the people she had to tell- the faculty, her teachers.
Oriana rearranged everything she possibly could that was on that table, and still the boy was there. He wasn't leaving, and it was bothering Oriana. She pondered playing the boyfriend card, but everyone knew that she was "dreadfully" single. She was likewise tempted to play the lesbian card, but she really disliked the practice, and she didn't want that spreading around school, either. So instead, she busied herself with not paying attention to him... Except for when he spoke. Oriana decided that as long as he didn't touch her, as long as he didn't try to dig into her being, she'd talk to him, at least. "Beautiful? Perhaps. I have certainly not been called that in a long time. You're not too bad yourself, but I really am busy." Still no insults. Uncharacteristic, sure, but until he really started to bother her, she would be... not mean.

She didn’t seem to be taking the bait. This bothered him at first, but he kept reminding himself that, for sure, it was just a façade, and soon she would be…Good to go with him. He smiled and leaned back, resting on his back leg. He wanted to chat, but decided to play it calm and cool. No need to at all act as if he wasn’t sure of himself, because he was. One hundred percent. No one needed to know that he was starting to lose his own touch. He wished that he could be more sure of himself but then remembered that he could technically hit on any chick. This was just one. One in a whole ocean.
He tried to reassure himself of this, that he didn’t need this girl, but something inside of himself tugged and he felt as though he actually…Cared about her. Or more liked cared about her more then he did other girls. Or, he guessed, was intrigued by her. More like intrigued, he guessed, and went on reassuring himself that it wouldn’t be long before he had her…But his ego was fading, and so was his assurance. He was used to being a people person, but usually when the other person was one too. Or at least talked more.
While Oriana preoccupied herself with arranging the things on the table, Rai looked around hesitantly, in habit, to see if anyone was looking his way. Usually a way to get pray for his old business, he was used to waiting for people to come to him in search of a buzz. However, in this school it was slightly ridicules to believe that anyone would come close to asking him here, in this school, where he was pretty sure most of their moves were watched pretty closely. He didn’t want customers anyways…He was looking for another.
Rai took her complement and smiled. “Do you need any help?” he offered kindly, all around willing. It was boring right now anyways, and anything that might allow him to talk to her a bit longer seemed nice. At least, a little nicer than just standing there awkwardly.
