i will die before life becomes a bore
With a rather patient, look on his face, Jared waited contently for his pizza. For some reason, he wasn't causing a fuss, now that his pizza has taken at least twenty minutes to cook. Perhaps it was because he was finally of that island, on Christmas break. On his back, rested his coat that he hung over the shoulder of the chair. In front of him, a half finished coffee. Outside, a chill that was signature to Castle's winter. He sat at a small table for two, alone, and waiting for his meal. Looking around, there weren't very many open seats. It was a bit unexpected to see, since this pizzeria had always been rather unpopular.
In a flurry of giggles and chuckles, a group of happy students shuffled their way into the pizzeria and took the last tables. A crooked smile appeared on his face, as they said hello, and made their way. And from a distance, he heard the faint sound of someone hitting a bell and yelling out his name. With a grunt, he got up quickly to get his individual sized pizza.
However, before he made his way over to the counter, he felt something jab into his toes. And for some strange reason, Jared had tripped. This was totally knew to Jared and he was unsure of how to react. Seldom did he ever have a misstep! He was an athlete, to say the least, with great coordination and reaction time, so he barely made a scene about the mishap. Instead, he looked like someone had snagged his foot, and he was just releasing it of its grasp.
With an apologetic sigh, he looked back at the person and said, "Sorry." The tone was more robotic than anything, but at least it was better than none at all.
This was so strange, how could have Jared tripped? It was probably the giggling group of girls that had come in earlier and their boyfriends that distracted him from where he was going. Regardless, this was rather embarrassing, and he hoped that this didn't damage his reputation.
