She pushed were way through everything until she found what she was looking for. If she was going to be stuck here she might as well use everything to her disposal. It was a torso replica on a stand. One used to attack on, but it was too heavy for the girl to pull out. She put her hands on her hips and stared at the thing. The little thing kept staring until it was a foot in the air. Sweat beaded down her face as she backed up and out of the place. At least at home she could use her powers without getting in trouble. This place was hell.
She moved out to the middle of the room before she let the thing fall and took a deep breath. “I hate heavy things.” She muttered and wiped her brow before she began warming up. She did some routines before she took off around the room. Lexi wore a pair of leggings and a sports bra. Her normally down hair was pulled up and her hands were wrapped. The little spit fire was ready to do some fighting since she was not allowed to hurt some actual human.
“They are no different from me.” She grunted when she finished her last lap. She looked at the dummy. She didn’t have any physical disformity. Even if she did. Why were people really cruel? She was mean, but nothing like that. She swung her arm and began taking her anger out on the dummy. She kept swinging until she grabbed the neck of the dummy and thrusted her knee into its abdomen. This is what controlled her. Nothing they can do here could help her. Lexi gave it a final swing and the whole thing flew back into the wall. “I do have control.” She moved her muscles around before she let herself fall to the ground.

Danny could often be found in the gymnasium. Either that, or the gym. Back home, he had always been active. In middle school he had played all sorts of sports, along with weight lifting. He wasn't on any time at AGM, but that didn't mean he was going to let himself go. After all, he was a teenage guy, and they were absurdly proud of their bodies. Sure, he was focused on other things. He loved his music, and could also be found in the music room. Maybe it was girly, but he loved playing the piano. A contradiction, this one was. And Danny knew it, too.
But he had come here for a reason. Not two weeks ago, his girlfriend had broken up with him. Though he had told her that it was all right, that he understood, it still hurt. A lot. Margaret was his first real relationship, and he had loved her dearly. Losing her was like losing a part of himself. It was so incredibly cliche, he knew, but Danny really felt that way. He had had his fair share of relationships, both guys and girls. He was, after all, bi. But he hadn't had a serious one until his Maggie. No, not his anymore. It was still weird to think like that. Every time he thought about her, his heart throbbed. Danny had brought himself here to get away from it. He had been lapping the gym for almost ten minutes, a sweat covering his tanned body. He was shirtless, showing off his very nice abs, like he normally was, and was just taking a break when he saw Lexi.
Danny didn't know her very well. She was pretty, and a fireball. He found her amusing, which really wasn't unusual for him. But she was intriguing, and the fact that she could fight held a certain... attractiveness to her. He walked over to her, two water bottles in hand. One, he offered to her, the other one he popped open and drank. "You really are a fireball, aren't you?" He asked with a half-smile.

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i52.tinypic.com/el4i9y.png); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] what doesn't kill you makes you stronger Honestly Alexandra thought she was alone. She really did. When she started fighting she would get into her whole own world. Nothing else matter other than technique and getting in the right hits. But not someone had made their presence known, and well, Lexi had never been great with people. "Remind me not to piss you off. Ever." The girl's blue eyes searched her surrounding area quickly and landed on a young man near her. Good, a guy. Lexi knew how to act with them. It was girls who gave her a tough time. But she didn't know if she really wanted to make a friend, or keep going through this as a loner.
Ever since she stepped foot on this campus, she began avoiding everyone. Students, teachers, nurses, anyone. She was use to doing things her own way and leaving others out of it. But then she did have her mother to release to, and before that, a father. Now there was no one. And she was not sure she could trust anyone here. She looked at him from an odd angle and shrugged. Lexi was an easy one to piss off. She was just that since she was little. She had her father's spunk. She rolled over onto her stomach before pushing herself up.
Yeah, he was taller than her and now that she got a good look at him, well it made her get butterflies in her stomach. She hated being a teenager, stupid hormones. "You really are a fireball, aren't you." THe girl took the water bottle from him. "Thanks." She twist the top off and too a drink from it. She thought about it. Before nodding. "Total fireball. Don't get burned." It was a joke, something she knew a lot about. She was not always so cold and annoyed. She knew how to have fun and how to be a child. She was just matured because of recent events. She took another drink before putting the water bottle down on the ground. She then stuck her hand out. SHe would have to make an effort somewhere, right? The tape obviously needed to be replaced after all of that. "Lexi Law."

Here was a place that he was accepted for what he was. He enjoyed seeing other people with abilities, and what those abilities were. Danny was a social creature, after all. True, he had been homesick. After all, he was very close to his family. There was the typical tension at times that came with having a big family. Having four siblings was really trying at times. He love them dearly - especially his younger twin brothers - but he was a teenager. They were irking at times. So, true, he had been homesick.
Danny ran his hands through his hair as he looked at the girl. She seemed so focused and... intense. Danny had done martial arts when he was a child, though quite when they moved. He knew how hard it was to do what she was doing. Especially being female. Now, Danny had nothing against females. But they definitely did have to work twice as hard as the men. It was probably why Daniel had more respect for females who could fight than males. Most guys could fight. But girls? Half of them were the cliche damsels in distresses. But not this fireball. Danny leaned up against a nearby dummy, taking another drink of his water.
Danny shrugged as she thanked him. "Your welcome." Danny gave her another once over, a smile teasing his lips at her words. "Lucky that I'm a healer, then, so I can deal with said burns." Danny joked, a teasing gleam in his brown eyes. He took her hand when she offered it, his much larger one enveloping hers. Oh yes, she was pretty all right. "I'm Danny Cross. Nice to meet you, Lexi." Stupid teenage hormones indeed.

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i52.tinypic.com/el4i9y.png); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] what doesn't kill you makes you stronger “Your welcome.” He had told her before continuing on. “Lucky that I’m a healer, then, so I can deal with said burns.” Lexi gave a small smile and eyed him, sort of sizing him up. “We’ll see about that.” Lexi didn’t care what other powers some kids had. They were like her, and been put in a prison. She just couldn’t help but notice that they enjoyed it. She obviously didn’t enjoy it and wanted a way out. But that was just Lexi and her free spirit. She got that trait from her mother and it mixed dangerously with her father’s traits.
Lexi gave his hand a shake. “I’m Danny Cross. Nice to meet you, Lexi.” The girl let go of his hand and gave him a nod. “Right back at cha.” She then turned away from him and her blue eyes landed on her bent up dummy. Poor thing. She glanced back at the guy. A healer? That was a new one. By the name her mind worked out something dealing with regeneration of others and apparently himself. She was quite the smart one. Her eyes went back onto the dummy and she concentrated. The thing lift up into the air, only a foot and made its way back over to her.
That was her ability. She had also great control over it. Her only weakness was that the heavier something was, the harder it was to move. It was the reason why she focused most of the power into her punches and kicks. It created a better effect. She just had some outbreaks that were caused by her anger, meaning, the dummy flying into the wall. “So you can help people huh? Why are you in here then? Can you hurt other’s with your power?" The girl was blunt obviously. She just said things on her mind. She could see how her power could have been used for the bad but his, it was all helping others. She turned to him. “I wanna see how it works.” The girl went over to him and began unwrapping the tape from her knuckles. Pieces of skin came off with it. It was normal. She was supposed to use gloves to keep this from happening, but she didn’t have them. There was a little blood, but not much. “Heal me?” she looked up at him.

Danny said with an extravagant bow. A little part of him felt guilty that he was flirting with Lexi, especially so soon after the break-up. But that was just silly. Maggie had broken up with him, not the other way around. There was no reason to feel bad or anything like that. Lexi was pretty, and she was intriguing. The boy shrugged slightly, looking around for his shirt. Spotting his gym bag, he trotted over to it and pulled the white shirt over his head before coming back over to the girl, carrying two granola bars and Snickers. He offered the treats to her, saying, "You looked like you were having fun. Did you do martial arts, or was this just for fun?" Danny unwrapped the granola bar, munching on it as he watched her.
"I'm guessing you're new? I haven't seen you before. Not that it means much. I'm a sophomore." Danny said with an easy smile. He watched her levitate the dummy over there, raising one eyebrow as she did so. So she could move things with her mind? That was pretty awesome, he wasn't going to lie. Some powers he thought were sort of useless - like empathy. What was the point in feeling others emotions? It had to such. Some powers were useful, like his healing powers. But Lexi's was downright cool. Danny could imagine all the fun he would have if he had that power. But alas, his power was the boring old healing. Not that he complained all that much. Healing was lucky.
Danny snorted at her questions. "Healing is a double-edged sword, Lexi. I can heal someone, yes. But I can also make something worse. The power also comes from my body, and can get a little out of wack sometimes." One memorable time being he healed his sister's broken arm and used so much energy he landed himself in a coma for a week. That had been fun. Not. Danny raised both his eyebrows now when she requested a healing, and he shrugged. Why not? He took her hands, clucking a bit at what he saw. "You really should get some gloves. They can get infected if left untreated. Lucky, you have me." Danny closed his eyes, centering himself. Healing was both simple and difficult, and something he felt at home with. He pictured the skin on Lexi's knuckles healing together, smooth pink skin, burning out any bacteria that lingered. Then he applied an energy to it, almost like stretching a muscle he didn't use very often.
When he opened his eye, Lexi's knuckles were healed in pristine condition. "See? All better." Danny said with a proud little smile.

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i52.tinypic.com/el4i9y.png); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] what doesn't kill you makes you stronger Lexi was not use to this sort of conversation. She had always been a childish little thing and though she was matured, she was again a loner. She was socially ignorant. But she knew to just to go with the flow. “As you wish, m’lady.” She laughed and pretended to curtsy like she had seen in the movies. But she didn’t have a dress to hold and was actually a bit clumsy doing it, which again was no surprise. She was more graceful fighting. “You look like you were having fun. Did you do martial arts, or was that just fun?” The girl leaned up against her own dummy and looked at him. She crossed her arms over her chest and shrugged. “I did kick boxing when I grew up, not to mention I developed some street methods on my own.” That was hardly the case. She use to seek out people who could teach her more.
The girl glanced at the snacks but her eyes went back to his. She was not hungry, nor did she liked working before or after eating, she had to have some time in between each action. “I’m guessing you’re new? I haven’t seen you before. Not that it means much. I’m a sophomore.” The girl looked at him a bit surprised. To her he looked a bit older than a sophomore. But what did she know? “You know enough though.” She smiled a bit. “I’m definitely new. Freshman actually.” It was not something she was too happy about. She did not like the school, nor did she want to attend.
Lexi looked at him with interest. She didn’t know it could be used other than for helping. “"Healing is a double-edged sword, Lexi. I can heal someone, yes. But I can also make something worse. The power also comes from my body, and can get a little out of wack sometimes." She thought about it for a minute let his words roll over in her mind. “So then you are a threat. Hmmm. Ever tried the opposite of healing?” Lexi didn’t stop himself from asking the question. She was really quite interested in the double edge sharpness of his power. "You really should get some gloves. They can get infected if left untreated. Lucky, you have me." The girl smiled at him. “Well if I have you then I don’t need to get any.” It was simple.
Her blue eyes watched his as he reached inside himself to heal hers. He showed her his work. “See all better?” Her eyes were wide. “That is truly amazing!” her fingers went over her kuckles one by one. “You’re better than some gloves.” She muttered before looking at him. “Can you feel pain as well? Even though you can heal yourself? Wait how does healing effect your body? Mine makes me get tired really fast.” There she was letting her thoughts come out and join them. She really had no control over that.

He knew that he was a dork. He really didn't care, either. People would think what they wanted to think, and that was that. He wasn't going to waste time or emotions on others who decided to judge him. Danny was a fan of Shakespeare, and sometimes lapsed into it when he was feeling whimsical. The fact that Lexi responded in kind sort of made Danny's day. His eyes were warm as he responded to her little curtsy with a graceful nod. He blinked in surprise when she admitted to kickboxing. "Wow, that's really cool! I haven't known a girl before who has done kickboxing. Do you like it?" he asked curiously. "I did martial arts until eighth grade."
Danny shrugged when she didn't take the snacks, sticking them in his pocket and taking another drink of his water. "Ah, freshman. The worse year, but it gets better, I promise." Danny sighed, remembering last year. It had been a terrible year, but he had gotten over it. When she asked her question, Danny sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Only once." He said quietly, his eyes going distant. "I don't normally do things like that. It's not in my personality. If I had to, I would but... I don't exactly consider myself a threat, but I'm here, so..." He shrugged. The usual cocky smile came back at her next words. "This is very true."
Danny was almost amused by how excited she seemed to be over her healed knuckles. It honestly wasn't that big of a deal. "Feel the pain? No. I can tell exactly what is wrong and where. It's sort of like... I see it. Up here." He tapped his forehead, trying to explain what he saw. "It depends on what I heal. Something like this really doesn't bother me. Broken bones, serious illnesses, those can knock me out for a couple of hours." Danny admitted. He didn't mind talking about his powers - it was fun, actually.

[/style][style= background-image: url(http://i52.tinypic.com/el4i9y.png); border: solid #b9b9b9 15px; width: 400px; height: 200px;] what doesn't kill you makes you stronger "Wow, that's really cool! I haven't known a girl before who has done kickboxing. Do you like it?" Lexi shrugged. “It’s the only thing I have left of my father. I practically live on it.” It was the truth. Alexandra didn’t get much from her father. Yeah he was always there, but he was on a cops payroll, which was not the greatest income. But he taught her what he knew before taking her to an actualy gym to learn."I did martial arts until eighth grade." She raised her eyebrows. “Really?” Lexi pushed herself off of her dummy and over to him. “Two years ago?” Her eyes went to the ceiling in thought. “Wanna spar?” she looked back at him with amusement. Sparring didn’t really hurt, so he wouldn’t have to worry about going easy on her. Not to mention she would never admit to pain.
The girl was not really interested on talking about the school or how it could become better. She was forced here, that would never change. "Ah, freshman. The worse year, but it gets better, I promise.” Alexandra just nodded pushing though thoughts away. She wanted to avoid the conversation completely. Which wasn’t hard thanks to her questioning. "Only once." His voice practically went away and she knew it was something not too pleasant. The look in his eyes just told it all."I don't normally do things like that. It's not in my personality. If I had to, I would but... I don't exactly consider myself a threat, but I'm here, so..." Lexi decided not to try anymore questions for a bit just out of concern of pushing her bounderies with someone who actually getting along with her. It was rare.
"Feel the pain? No. I can tell exactly what is wrong and where. It's sort of like... I see it. Up here." Her blue eyes went up to see his gesture before she went back to admiring her hands. They looked untouched, when in reality in a few weeks be scarred over showing her efforts. Not they just looked all brand new. "It depends on what I heal. Something like this really doesn't bother me. Broken bones, serious illnesses, those can knock me out for a couple of hours." Lexi nodded her head before she finally put her hands down. She was going to need to learn to carry tape with her if the gym was going to be constantly open. She was just trying her luck today.
