ASHLEY DRAKE PRINCE TEN SIXTEEN ALEX EVANS
"i reject your reality and substitute it with my own! "
"i reject your reality and substitute it with my own! "
"Let's begin, shall we? Tell me about yourself. I want to know everything."
ash really had no idea why he was doing this, but oh well! " uh. well, my name is ashley drake prince. i go by ash. i'm sixteen years old, i was born on, uh, september fifteenth. i'm a sophomore in high school, kinda flunked kindergarten.... i really don't get how you do that, either. i mean, what, did i not know my abc's like i should have? did i still need my fingers to count...? i'll shut up now. " if he were a cat, his ears would have been flat against his head.
"All right. So you know the truth about this place. What exactly did we invite you to this school for?"
how to explain his powers? " um. well, i guess i'm kinda a technopath. i mean, i can talk to machines. and make them into things that i can use, " thinking about it for a moment, he realized he never really made something all that useful. " once, i made a toaster out of a computer! it was weird. i was only trying to fix the darn thing, too! stupid blue screen of death. anywho, i can really only make things work again right now. people always ask me to fix their ipods, computers, and anything else they managed to break. i'm trying to work on being able to make stuff i can use, or sell~ "
"Oh yes. I see now why we would have invited you. Tell me please, a bit of background information. What is home life to you?"
" um. well, i can't really remember things up to a certain point, " that was really the only way he was going to be able to start this. " when i was eight i kinda woke up in a hospital and forgot my memories. no one claimed me, so one of the nurses adopted me. she was super nice, and she's my adopted mom; she knew it would be hard for an eight year old to be adopted. plus, she had powers, too, so she was willing to help me when i got mine! i think she could tell who had powers, but i dunno. in any case, my mom adopted me when i was about nine. she never got married, and as far as i know she didn't have a boyfriend, and her parents were dead. so, she's pretty much my only family. " a small, shy smile appeared on his lips. he really didn't like talking about his past too much, especially about his mother. " home life for me is, well, okay. we go out to dinner and watch movies, but it's not the best best that everyone has. we've moved a ton, too, so that doesn't help with getting settled in a town, either. " he licked his lips, thinking of what else to say. " ever since she took me home, she's basically been my best friend. a lot of people don't like their parents, but i love her. she's like my mom, big sister, and best friend wrapped into one, " he admitted, shrugging. it took a true man to admit that he only had his mom as a friend.
"I see. You should fit right in. May I ask, what are your plans for outside of AMG?"
the boy let out a nervous chuckle and rubbed the back of his neck. " well, i dunno, really. i know i should prolly become a computer programmer or a technician of some sort, but i kinda wanna be a photographer. or a chef. knowing mom, though, i'm gonna at least be working some sort of technical junk where i either fix people's shiz-nitz or i'm inventing. "
"Huh. That's fine, actually. Uh... would you like to tell me about any hobbies or part-time jobs you have? It may be too difficult to continue once you're on the island."
his face brightened; obviously it was a good topic. " i don't have a job, though i'd actually like to get one. i think it'd be easy to sit in a repair shop and just use my powers when no one's looking~ " it was a horrible idea, really, but he didn't mind. anything to make some extra cash to fuel his artistic needs. " my hobbies are, well, reading and writing and photography. and a little bit of painting, if i get bored. some of my friends got me into a bit of soccer. " he made a dramatic nod, smiling. " it won't be that difficult! i can find a way to do all of those things! " or so he hoped.
"We're nearly finished now. But I'd like to know, how do you feel about AMG and super natural powers. I ask you be honest here."
" oh my gosh, i think it's AMAZING! " his voice rose a few octaves at the end. " i love super powers. i always used to wish i was, like, secretly a fairie or an elf or something. this is pretty dang close, and just as awesome! " he was nearly bouncing in his seat.
"Oh, I see. I have mixed feelings about it myself, but I know what I believe in. Well, great! I think we're finished now. I've gotten a real sense of who you are! Thanks so much for your time and we'll let you know. In the meantime, do you have any questions, comments or concerns?"
he shook his head, a smile still plastered on that silly face of his. " nope, i think i'm good~ "
