DANIEL ALEXANDER CROSS SOPHOMORE 16 TAYLOR LAUTNER " I laugh in the face of danger... at a safe distance, of course. "
"Let's begin, shall we? Tell me about yourself. I want to know everything."
Danny sat back in his chair, shifting uncomfortably. Normally, he'd have no problems talking about himself. He was, after all, a teenager, and everyone knew that teenagers enjoyed talking. But this part was important, and Danny didn't want to pull his usual 'open-mouth-insert-foot' trick. So Danny thought for a moment before answering, leaning forward as he did.
"My name's Daniel Alexander Cross, though most people call me Danny. I'm 16, and my birthday is January 27th. That would make me a sophomore here. I have two younger brothers and two older sisters, though they didn't go to AGM. I'm the first one in my family to go here, actually, and sort of looking forward to it."
With those words, he sat back again, letting out a sigh of relief. So far he hadn't messed up. He had a feeling that sooner or later he'd be tasting his foot, but for the moment, everything seemed to be going swell.
"All right. So you know the truth about this place. What exactly did we invite you to this school for?"
Danny raised an eyebrow. They were the ones who invited him over here, shouldn't they know? He mentally shrugged. Maybe they were testing him or something. In case a "normal" person tried getting in? Danny snorted slightly. Yeah, right.
"I have the ability of healing." Danny explained in his soft, easy tones. "Not myself, not usually. But others. Funny thing, how I discovered it. My brother decided that it'd be a grand idea to climb into a tree and not be able to get down. He fell, and skinned up his knees pretty badly. Me, being the tough older brother I was, tried to calm him down and covered the skinned area so my sisters, who were screaming bloody murder, wouldn't see. My oldest sister, Carrie, ran in to get my mother. But when she moved my hand away, there was nothing there! The wound was gone, and I felt exhausted."
Danny flushed, realizing he was babbling. He had a feeling that the president really didn't want to hear about his past. Danny cleared his throat. "Anyway, I've been working on it since then. I don't think I can cure things like cancer or anything of the like - I've tried. My grandmother died of breast cancer, and I couldn't heal her. But I have been able to heal things like cuts, broken bones, colds, mild illnesses. It's exhausting, though." Danny touched his chest slightly, not really noticing though. "Most of the time, I usually end up feeling like a limp noodle. I've even passed out a couple of times." he admitted with a flush. "Other than that, there isn't much else to say..."
"Oh yes. I see now why we would have invited you. Tell me please, a bit of background information. What is home life to you?"
Danny smiled. He loved talking about his family, and was fiercly proud of me. "Like I said, I have two younger brothers and two older sisters. My oldest sister is named Carrie, and she's 23. She's married to a doctor, and is a practicing vet. She's a bit stuffy, always very serious, but she's the one we run to when something goes wrong."
"Next is Ariel." He full out grinned at the thought of his closest sibling. "She's my best friend, and only a year older than I am. She's a fireball, that one. She hopes to one day be a diplomat, though she's gonna have to get some diplomacy first!" Danny ran a hand through his hair as he spoke, thinking about the twins. "Next is me, then the twins. Caleb and Joshua are 12, and they're ridiculously hyper. Both of them are football crazed, and want to go pro. I love them, yes, but they're so loud."
Danny tapped his finger on his knees, wondering what his parents were up to. "My mom and dad own a restuarant back home, the Cottage Cafe. Mom's a pastry cook, and loves it. Dad's a chef - cliche story, yes, but they actually met in Paris while they were students. They fell in love, married, and moved to Chicago, where they raised us. They're great parents, really. We aren't wealthy, no, but we're well-off. They didn't raise us with any sense of privilage! Dad would smack us upside the head if we thought we were better than anyone else!"
"I see. You should fit right in. May I ask, what are your plans for outside of AGM?"
Danny frowned. Teachers ALWAYS asked that question. How the heck was he suppose to know? He was sixteen. It wasn't like he had his whole life planned yet. Not even close! He sighed. "Honestly, I really don't know. I like to play music - especially the piano. I'm thinking maybe something with that. On the other hand, with my ability and all, I might become a doctor. I don't know." He shrugged a bit. "I have time to think, don't I?"
"Huh. That's fine, actually. Uh... would you like to tell me about any hobbies or part-time jobs you have? It may be too difficult to continue once you're on the island."
Danny nodded. "I helped out in my parent's resturaunt for the longest time, and that was my job. I don't really miss it, and my parents still have my younger siblings to help out. But as for hobbies..."
Danny had been playing the piano since he was six years old. He didn't know if they even had one here in this school, a rather distressing thought. "I've played the piano since I was young. I've done all sorts of recitals, and really enjoy it. I just hope they have one here...." He frowned, slightly worried.
"We're nearly finished now. But I'd like to know, how do you feel about AGM and super natural powers. I ask you be honest here."
Danny's dark eyes lit up. "Honestly, I think it's awesome! Yes, I was that kid who always wished he could be a superhero. You know, zoom around and save the day and all!" Danny grinned, looking younger than he was. "Sure, I can't actually fly or save the day or anything of the like, but still, it counts!"
Danny shrugged at the mention of the school. "I don't like being away from my folks, or my siblings, but hey. I'd rather know how to use my powers and go to school at the same time than not. I'll get over it."
"Oh, I see. I have mixed feelings about it myself, but I know what I believe in. Well, great! I think we're finished now. I've gotten a real sense of who you are! Thanks so much for your time and we'll let you know. In the meantime, do you have any questions, comments or concerns?"
Danny stood up with a smile. "Not really, no. Just thanks for having me here!" He didn't think that went too badly... nope, not at all.
